sunrise
its the sound of the birds singing,
so warm and soothing.
the sight of the sun shining,
looming up above,
its light spreading
filling ones heart with love,
in a world filled with darkness
and pain,
agony and stress,
an ever-lasting strain.
when the world is filled with light,
when the sun over-powers the moon,
dawning towards the end of night,
as light starts to prune,
prune out the sadness,
outwit the misery,
over-shadow this mess;
the mess caused by this debris,
the debris that night's evil left behind,
the debris that has left us blind.
for only dawn can keep us confined,
only sunrise, can keep us refined.
new life begins everyday,
when the birds are singing.
so, start focusing on today,
for every sunrise offers a new beginning.
