If you love me you would forgive.

Words are said but misinterpreted.

If you listen you will know.

Words are said but you did not hear.

If you heard you would care.

Words are said but they are lies,

If I listen I'll be scared

The author's comments:

The last line may not make much sense, so I'll explain. A boyfriend told me he wanted to be with me forever, and I held onto those words only to find out they were lies. I've been scared to trust sweet words ever since.
