Only a Sick Person Would Write This

It'd be so much easier to get over you if you only hated me
Then at least I'd have a clue and I'd never be left wondering
Say it to my face, I beg you, yell it in my ear
Tell me you could never love me- just say the things I'd hate to hear

Go ahead and take what's left of my sad heart
Just yell at it, just scream at it, just tear it all apart
Crumple it and mold it into an uneven useless ball
Rip it so to shreds so that it's very, very small

Take a bat and smash it- break the glass beneath my chest
Let the jagged remnants cut me up beneath my dress
Make it shatter, make it sting, make it cut me deeper than before
Force me to recollect the pieces and toss 'em out the door

Chomp on it, chew on it, like an old piece of gum
Until the flavor's gone and forgotten- then spit it out beneath the sun
Let the sun dry it up, as it hardens to the sidewalk
Build a cage around it- and be sure that it is locked

Throw my heart into the freezer, where it will be like ice
Make it harden, make it colder, as you stab each little slice
Plop it into your beverages before you take a sip
Then poison it as it touches the venom in your lips

Toss it into a boiling pot of liquid fire
Laugh at it, poke at it- turn the flames up higher
Make it sizzle into nothing as it evaporates into space
Now I'll cry no more, since my regrets will be erased
