Last Night I Dreamed a Dream

Last night I dreamed a Dream.
I dreamt You came for me,
before I came for You.
I dreamt You had my Heart.
And even in my youth,
I told You how I felt,
and then You told the Truth.
I didn't have to hide from You,
I didn't have to cry.
'Cuz in this perfect Dream of mine
You weren't allowed to lie.
I dreamt You held me close
and whispered in my ear.
I closed my eyes and listened to
three Words I've longed to hear.
Last night I dreamed a Dream.
I dreamt You loved me too.
But I've begun to realize
that Dreams do not come True.
