Pillars! Pillars! standing tall.
What Genius or Fool made them all?
What pride allows you to stand so high?
Will your concrete frame ever sight?

What crafty hand molded thy rigid frame?
How dare you put Mother Earth to shame?
Do you hold up Fatherly Sky?
Why must you tower before my eyes?

Does stars dance upon your roof?
Is power’s totem ever sooth?
What godly purpose do you pose?
Are you petal or thorn of thy modern rose?

The fateful day thy break and fall,
Is the night of life of us all.
There you scatter in pieces and ruin,
Soaked with tear before the new moon.

Pillars! Pillars! standing tall.
What Genius or Fool made them all?
What pride allows you to stand so high?
Will your concrete frame ever sight?

My class was reading about the Industrial Revolution and this was an assignment. I'm a bad poem writer but this turn out good. It is based on "The Tyger" by William Blake

I love the style of Tyger! Tyger! and consequently love this as well. Very nice imagery, and subtle meaning. I do not believe you give yourself enough credit
