Daisy Days
By Sage F., Salem, MA
Long ago and far away.
My sister and I danced in the daisies.
Around and about and around again,
till the daisies got dizzy,
and circled around our bare feet.
We fell down laughing
at the confused clouds,
in the spinning blue sky,
till it all slowed down.
And we were up again,
and around and about,
and around and around,
and again around,
till the daisies turned blue
like the sky,
and the sky
white like the daisies.
We were pushed down.
So on our bellies
in those blue daisies
we lay.
Long ago and far away.
