Stuff of Clouds

The charged air was deathly contagious,
and I smile as I think about us,

How we loped up that frosty old hill,
and you hand in mine gave me a thrill,

Though the clouds were still dusty and shy,
we knew soon that the Sun would rise high,

So we waltzed to our little worn spot,
we sat, though the cold begged we ought not,

Our legs dangled over the cliff's edge,
while the moon shrunk to a small tea dredge,

And that's when I peered into your eyes,
searching in their depths for a disguise,

Finding none, I crept out of my shell,
the Sun rose like a secret to tell,

Oh, we kissed such a passionate kiss,
while our souls intertwined in such bliss,

We broke away and it felt so sweet,
the wind blew across a field of wheat,

Our locked eyes became untouchable,
the stillness around us a bubble,

And though they were just a mere mumble,
your three words made my tummy tumble,

Looking at you, I knew they were true,
so I whispered back, "I love you, too."
