   Blood sugar candy

On a tiny paper rose.

Wind marches over.

Heart to heart to heart

To spine to nails on cold slate.

Silence is tarnished.

Roses on blue ice

Underneath a paper heart.

Bloodlessness is life.

Mountains of the sea

Hide in blankets of noonday

Lost children come home.

Silver is sunlight

Ice in the blood of each star.

The night is a laugh.

Eyes of violet

Laughter in the skin of birds.

Dying butterflies.
