Goodbye
I sit in my place, just mine no one else
And I listen to my heart beat silent and slow
I am thinking of you, and what we lost
How I let it spill through my fingers, not knowing the cost
I lied to myself, I let others believe
That you were the one, my only true need
I forgot to tell you how much it hurt
To see you move on like I was dirt
I look in the distance and see the sunset
It is symbolic of you, and how much I regret
I miss you, I will not lie
as the shadow of night indulges, I begin to cry
I demand my heart to forget, its not worth my time
But it doesn’t feel like a victimless crime
I turn my tear stained face into the sky
silently I whisper an overdue goodbye
