IF
If I could make you see,
what I see, you’d see
you and me starring at each other
from across the room,
and we would both assume
know would know.
If I could make you hear,
what I hear, you’d hear
me laughing at your jokes
and you would laugh at my funny ways.
If I could make you smell
what I smell, you’d smell
the sweet sent of flowers you just brought me,
and the soft hint of perfume,
I put on just for you.
If I could make you taste,
what I taste, you’d taste
the buttery popcorn on our first date
and the kiss that would come
latter that day.
If I could make you feel,
what I feel, you’d feel
your heart pounding louder than
the thunders of the sky.
And when we touched we’d feel
the sun shine through on rainy days.
If I could make you dream,
what I dream, you would dream
of us holding hands
as we crossed the street,
and ran through the fields
in our bare feet.
If I could make you
see, hear, smell, taste, feel, and dream,
like I do
you would fall for me
like I fell for you!
