Escape MAG

   She stands, her

soul torn

behind the curtains

weeping & tired

the tree stands, &

embraces her,

for it weeps too

misconception

denial

confusion

longing

the emotions, the

tears

they stain her

appearance

no one sees

no one hears

she weeps only

behind the curtains

alone

she sparkles

beyond them

smiling

laughing

stabbing her own

soul

knowing the mask

is

temporary

the problems

disappear

but they return

she weeps

again

&

again

wanting only

perfection

bliss

love

ESCAPE

to the moon

to the sea

where the blades

can't reach

she gazes above

rays of hope,

protruding down

the moon sighs

white & bright

her only light

oh so distant

far away

she lets herself

drop

collapse

eyes blackened

darkness

it haunts her soul

hatred

its companion

floods of it

drowning her spirit

hatred of reality

she imagines,

weeping still,

of her heaven

a field

of poppies

warmth &

sunshine

where she can flee

forever &

ever

in a deep

endless sleep

an ESCAPE

but she still

remains

soul still torn

for there is no

ESCAPE
