Best Friend
I do not preach from a pure heart
I do not speak from a clean mouth
I do not even cry new tears.
Because I know
You say I don't, but I do
I know that you know too
Always the crowd pleaser
All the holes in your body are open
Except your ears
You drink when you're not thirsty
You sniff when you're not sick
You tightened the screw when
it should not have been loose
You are ashamed for the wrong reason
for pity
for mercy
but not for yourself
Take it from me
it's not easy being a mother
Especially when the kid
is your
best friend
