May I Trap You In My Dance?
Love was meant, but
Hate was heard
Compassion broke through, but Backs were turned
Hearts were broken,
And anger burned
Words were ill spoken
My hatred was earned
But
Without the icy flame of my heart,
That completes and depletes and defeats me
Without the raging fire I tended to,
I don’t know long I can be.
For without the warm grasp of his hand,
My own impulsively twitch
Without the cool touch from his lips,
My own lips do nothing but itch.
And so I must continue my box-step with the Devil
And beg forgiveness for my most ridiculous fault
Only to find that Love can and will not surrender
Forever
I am stuck in this waltz.
