Lost

I am Lost
All I wanted
was to be your friend

and all i had to do
was change everything i am
everything i was

As i put on my makeup today,
My hand froze
What am i doing? i don't wear eyeliner?
do I?

whose eyes are those, with those
colored contacts?
whose hair is this,
with these brown highlights?

i don't know me
help
i am lost
i can not find me

and with out me,
who am i but a shadow
a shell
one with out dreams of their own
one without ambition

one who's sucess is never really theirs

i don't want to be shell anymore
i don't want to walk in the mall,
snickering at girls who are different,
passing up greasy fattening foods
which look delicious

i want to ride my dirt bike,
i want to hang with my friends at the skate park
i want to be me

This is a great poem. I think the raw grammar really adds to the fact that moments like this can be frightening.
