Thunder rolling high inthe clouds
As the trickling droplets of water race down mywindow
I press my small nose against the cool glass
Sporadicflashes of purple light dart across the sky
And the delicate greenleaves glisten with refreshment
Streams of life-giving water flowthrough them
And they bob gracefully under the pelting weight
Ican smell revival in the air
All of the aromas around me becomeexalted
And those very scents could melt the hardest of hearts
Inmy world
I can hear the soft rhythm of the pitter-patteringrain
And its song soothes me
I wonder where this storm hasbeen
And where it might go and I am fascinated by it
And thoughthe clouds bring a certain discomforting drear
The water carries itaway and washes the world anew.
