In The Shadows
Screaming. Yelling. Crying out.
Yet trying to hide in the shadows
Never knowing when he's home
Feeling like you're alone and forsaken
Keeping secrets and the scars
But it is getting really tough
Looking for an easy way out
Even though you know you won't
You know that everyone is talking
About your shy and sad expressions
Deep inside you want some help
Though you know that he'd be mad
You never really know if you'll wake up
Every morning after he's angry
Because he tells you it's the end
And there's no way to stop it
Maybe one day he'll finally change
Into the dad you used to know
But that seems like a distant dream
Even when you beg and plead
So for now you just cry inside
And find some way to move on
Because there's no use hoping for better things
In a life of depression and sorrow
