You look familiar like I have seen your face before
Your eyes, so tender
Your arms so warm
I look at you and I feel safe, I feel at home no matter where I am
Your smile looks like one that I once knew, it’s a faded memory from the past
You look like someone from my past, but my mind goes blank

Your voice is soothing
Your hair is soft
Your presence is so well known, yet I don’t know who you are
You remind me of a figure
A figure that I cant put a face to
Your smile, warmth, safety, its so close yet I’m far off

Where have I seen you before?
Where have we met?
Are you from my past?
Or are you just a reminder of what I don’t have anymore?
Slowly your features come back to me
Slowly I start to remember the memories we shared together

Finally your features show up in my mind
You’re a spitting image of him
A man I have never really known, yet I love
It all comes back to me
All the laughs we shared, all the times we shared
And then I remember it all. Dad is that you?
