What about Me?
You say a rock, a river, a tree
But you forget about my brethren and me
The wind blowing across the world
Seeing every detail of imperfection
The sun shinning brightly as a guide
Watching one world at a time
The moon, not as bright but still a guide
Watching his world too as time ticks by
The rain, tears of the world
Trying it rid the world of evil
You a rock standing steady
You a river flowing freely
You a tree watching those you tower over
Do you think your the only ones who here the cries
Of hate, only sometimes of love
Condescending I may be
But I the sun, and the moon
Are the eyes of the world?
Seeing more than you can ever imagine
I the wind
The voice of the world
Hears the cries as do you because I am the cries
But agree with you I will
The world should change and be changed
Lives lost and time lost
You the protector of the people
Standing so close and yet so far
Watching helplessly as wars rage on
With almost no end in sight
You the rock they use as tools
You the river they use to get cool
You the tree they use for shade
You see so much and are older than time
Yet there are thousands of rocks, rivers, and trees
Thousands of people wanting to be free
You the tree that holds the birds
The birds that sing to you
Do you hear the singing? Tree
Do you hear the cries?
NO you the tree stand there all tall watching
But do you really see?
You are the one crying
You’re the one who wants the change
All the people hear your cry
But that’s all the only hear it
You the tree that can only stand, hear, and see
Give more signs to the people
To change
