Hi my name is cancer
I destroy lungs,hearts,backs,and breasts
I make people cry over the rest they dont get
I make people ask a lot of questions but mostly "why"
I put people in hospitals, nursing homes, and some even die .
I make people scream and plead for mercy I even make people start cursing
If you dont know me maybe we will meet one day
And we can be friends
Til I end your days
My name is cancer

The author's comments:
My dad was 34 years old, and he had melanoma cancer. He suffered through everything that is described in this poem. His battle is what inspired me to write it. My dad lost his life on April 26, 2008. He is greatly missed. I will be 16 years old soon and must face life's challenges without him by my side.
