Ice Rose
An ice rose;
It never wilts;
It never dies,
Never fades,
Nor changes.
In a way,
It’s more beautiful than the others.
It doesn’t need time to bloom;
It’s already full grown.
No other rose sparkles like it does.
In a way,
It’s stronger than the others.
You don’t have to water it.
It doesn’t need sunlight.
It doesn’t grow in soil.
But it’s still breakable…
Fire,
Its mortal enemy.
Its unstoppable bane.
The taker of all lives.
An ice rose doesn’t need much;
All it needs is a shelter.
A safe haven from cruel fire.
A place where no heat may touch it.
A place where it fits in.
A place that will protect it;
Protect it at all costs,
Because it simply belongs.
