one girl, saturated
laced with love
bittersweet desire.
II.

with a face not unlike
peace drifting down
the rippled river, calm.

slanted shades and silver
soft melody floating

leftovers, yesterday's treasures
he follows the trail
winding up around the mountain

snips off a lock of his hair

as the breeze carries her love
into the abyss.
