Once growing and thriving
Now barely surviving

Once habitats a plenty
Now reduced to a penny

Once running with a strong build
Now shot and mindlessly killed

Once roaming free in the wild
Now in a cage they are compiled

Once stomachs of many were full and ample
Now empty filled with just a small sample

Once their waters were precious and clear
Now polluted and smoggy just as they fear

Once showing their furs with very much pride
Now worth so much they are forced to hide

Once confidently on the prowl
Now forced off their land with a large scowl

Once all life was priceless, animal or human
Now only ourselves matter-how it all began
