I am Poetry
I am from Transformer Movies and early Saturday cartoons watching Poke'mon,
From the hot, humid, noisy neighbors in summer and cool quiet starry skies,
I am form the partly clean room and an over energetic little sister who is too much to handle,
From small weeping trees with small pink flowers and bright flame painted tulips in my front yard,
I am from old family photos on the living room walls and forgotten Neopet board games,
From a face like my father and both parent's talent to draw well,
I am from learning hard algebra and playing dolls with my sister
From a stuffed animal cat named Strawberry,
Tucked in my bed safely,
Watching over me as I sleep.
I am from sugary sweet strawberry sundaes and long pink pajama dresses with frills and bows,
From my grandma's couch as she chase me out and a busy family all at their work,
I am from Happy New Years I spend with all my families and brightly colored traditional clothes,
From hard marble beds always heated and too many large or soft pillows,
I am from a hunt-happy dog named Little Bear and three cute little turtles,
From itchy leaves from weeds in the backyard and long necked flowers still in buds of green,
I am from fragile stained glass flower pictures colored in various pink and see through curtains,
From early misty mornings and late beautiful sunsets.
I am from broken old paper lanterns and dusty ornaments,
From Korean meals with spiced Kimchi and cold soda with pepperoni pizza,
I am from beautiful art sketches and bad writing or poetry skills,
From lazy Sundays sleeping till noon eleven and busy Monday mornings waking at early six,
I am from canoeing in the river with my friend from church and finishing homework too early,
From happy filled memorable friends,
To meet soon or later.
Every emotion I had drawn on thin paper,
Hidden from ever watching eyes in drawers, notebooks, or folders,
Many of my pictures of or from the past,
Created each from anger, rage, sorrow, joy or boredom,
Waiting to be colored and shown for all eyes to see.
