Without You

Without you I am miserable.
Without you I am lonely.
Without you I am trapped in a shadow.
Without you I hate getting up every day.
Without you laughs come less easily.
Without you I can’t look at myself the same way.
Without you my smile has no feeling.

I felt like an angel when there was you and me.
I felt I could do anything.
I felt like I could make a difference.
I felt in control.

With you I was whole.
With you I held the reigns.
With you the grass was always greener.
With you the sun always shined brighter.
With you I could laugh until my sides hurt.
With you I felt safe and not exposed.

But now that we’re over, you’ve been a real jerk.
But now that we’re over, you haven’t returned my emails or phone calls.
But now that we’re over, to you I don’t exist.
But now that we’re over, I’ve finally moved on and I’m better off…

Without you.
