Grunt, squeak, slap, swoosh.
The sneakers cut in every way,
Bodies low, hoping to find a way.
The paint is filled with sweaty bodies,
Fighting towards the basket,
Towards the ultimate goal.
The crowd roars in anticipation
Sweaty palms clinched together.
The final buzzer, the ball spins so slightly.
Final contact on the rim, and it drops.
Gasps fill the air, cheering and mourning.
Not everyone wins, but therein lies the beauty of sport….
REWARD.
