Saying Goodbye

My pen touches the paper
And the ink begins to flow
But my inspiration has
Run dry
My feet hit the ground
And the trees pass me by
But I still have the desire
To fly
My eyes start to focus
And the path becomes clear
But I’m fighting the urge
To cry
My heart beats faster
And adrenaline controls me
But I’m so afraid
To fly
My head is pounding
And the thoughts confuse me
But I think I need
To lie
My life is changing
And the emotions are strong
But I hate to say
Goodbye
