Nature's Children
Nature’s children:
rustling grass
ancient trees
blooming flowers
chirping birds
fluttering butterflies
buzzing bees
all live in the world of her creation
at her caring discretion:
all in a day’s work.
Grass befriends the tree,
gaining wisdom from he.
Butterflies flirt with flowers
Darting around for hours
Bees argue with birds,
saying their call is absurd -
All under the watchful eye of the Sun,
their governess
As night falls, Nature wraps them
in a star-spangled blanket of midnight blue
Tomorrow the day would begin anew.
