I live in a world that's truly unfair
where you are judged by the color of your hair
I live in a world where black is not black and white is not white
where people must try with all their might
I live in a world where you must strain
to get any importance to your name
I live in a country of which they call free
that says equality and liberty
I live in a country that's beautiful and strong
but people inside it still do wrong
I live in a country where they strive for a Dream
where everything is perfect or so it may seem
I live in a city that's been washed away
it's working towards a better day
I live in a city in which outsiders think
should be abandoned, for it will be gone in a wink
I live in a city which I am proud to call my own
I live in a city which is truly my home
