Aishiteru (I Love You)
‘Aishiteru’…leaks off my tongue,
In silence- Cowardly.
How many times my mind has won.
My heart stands- Idly
I open my mouth again…air
I’m choking on these deadly words
My stomach: Broken butterflies with wings of broken glass
Yet, the spilling of my guts is deferred.
I’d prefer if my eyes did not water from fright as if I were a child.
No more! No more! I want to die!
I can take this no longer.”
To confess what I’ve been hiding
Through the dark, my ballad
My defenses have been binding…
…Around my neck in backfire
My plans have gone astray
The perfect plan of no plan
The path of destiny
“Aishiteru”, in fragments
Deceased shall be my hope.
Assumed destiny is amiss
To it - mortality- unknown
