We are the foundation
Of our nation.
There’s not time for relaxation.

We must have determination,
And use our imagination
To not give into temptation.

We seen the discrimination
With no justification,
But this is our motivation.

We will be the inspiration
For the future admiration.
Prove there’s no limitation.

We are the next generation.
The one’s that will lead this nation.

The author's comments:
So I was writing this poem at first thinking about Obama, for him being the new president and the first african american president, but then i really started to think about the nation and what it means to me, and for people of my age group. So this poem is about the nation and how we are the next generation of leaders of american
