It's Found in the Wild

It’s more peaceful than a church,
The sun’s rays piercing the sky.

Cool grass, sticky sweet with dew,
Replaces hard wooden benches.

Illuminated green leaves look finer
Than any stained glass windows.

Bright blooming flowers come in
Yellows, reds, and dazzling whites.
They are more symbolic of life
Than the Pan flute, or even
The most holy and sacred cross, itself.

Peace and tranquility is tangible.

This garden, tucked away,
Makes one feel closer to the gods
Than in one of their own temples.

The author's comments:
The pan flute, mentioned in the above poem, is the symbol of the Greek god, Pan.
