Grandma Bowe sits alone, quietly in her blue rocking chair. She reads the

newspaper, crying over hate and crime, sipping her coffee.

Pondering life, she misses her husband, who’s no longer with her.

This is a Sijo poem. A poem with certain amount of syllabals and specific punctuation. This specific poem is written about my grandma who misses her husband from when he passed a few years back. I think this piece really brings out feelings that many people have after a significant loss.
