In Her Arms

She was in her mother’s arms
held tight, protected from all.
Caressed in her mothers arms
she started small, she started small.

Held tight, protected from all
from infant to toddler she grew.
She started small she started small,
but now as she grew tall the love remained the same.

From infant to toddler she grew
exploring and learning every step of the way.
But now as she grew tall, the love remained the same.
She started small, she started small.

Exploring and learning every step of the way
from blocks, to bikes to boys.
She started small, she started small.
But now as she grew tall, the love began to change.

From blocks, to bikes to boys
she grew from girl to woman.
But now as she grew tall the love began to change.
From a heart filled with love to a heart broken in sorrow.

She grew from girl to woman.
Times of joy, times of sadness, she had experienced them all.
From a heart filled with love to a heart broken in sorrow,
she thought she had seen it all.

Time of joy, times of sadness, she had experienced them all.
And through the tears she knew whom she could always go back to,
she thought she had seen it all,
but she knew what to do.

And through the tears she knew whom she could always go back to,
the one who had held her for so long.
But she knew what to do.
Her love for the one who had held her for so long would always stay the same.

The one who had held her for so long,
since before she had grown tall.
Her love for the one who held her would remain the same
The love that would go unchanged.

The one who had held her for so long.
She started small, she started small.
The love that would go unchanged.
She was in her mother’s arms.
