He likes
It’s that moment where he says your name
And you suddenly love the way it sounds when he says it
You act like you didn’t hear him and continue on with what you were doing
While he turns his head to stare at you with his captivating eyes
That any description couldn’t do them justice
He makes a sudden joke to get you to laugh
And you turn, covering your smile to try to hide how he makes you happy.
“I have to tell you something,” he says as he stares at you with his side smile
Opening up slightly and revealing his glistening teeth.
It’s that moment where your heart jumps
And suddenly your stomach is filled with a million butterflies.
You grasp your hands on your lap
Rubbing them together covering the sweat suddenly perspiring from them
You cross your arms and turn to face him
with your face feeling flushed while you try to force back your smile.
It’s that moment where everything’s in slow motion
And his lips begin to speak those words you want to hear
“I” he speaks as you hope the words following includ4e “like” and “you”.
“Like” he continues and all you want is the next word to have correlation to yourself.
A sudden smile emerges on your face
And you feel yourself blushing.
Just as you’re about to speak
And say you like him too
He finishes his phrase of “I like”
With the words “Your friend”.
It’s that moment when you force yourself
To keep a smile on your face to cover
Any and all hope that was suddenly shattered.
