It was a silent and dark time of night,
When I looked to the heavens and a star,
I looked at it and wished I could take flight,
But all I could do was gaze from afar,

I wanted to be in a distant tale,
In my dreams I was in another land,
I wanted to follow an unknown trail,
My dream journey was perfectly well planned,

But I am still stuck here, in this old world,
Can’t leave with the holes of the canvas black,
When before my mind the truth unfurled,
And now I do know why I was held back,

And today I know why I took the hint,
For now I know for sure why I was sent.
