Poison Ivy

all these things, these things
thunderstorms and lipstick cases
sick days on the couch
cigars, and sunscreen
these things will be gone
along with you and me
the rules of the game will change, like sugar coated knives
we are just one dimension in time
a dark colored question we always say
yes to
these things,
these coffee cups, snowmen, broken records
will come and go
always staying what they are
but you and me,
well,
we will morph and grow outside of ourselves
ivy, twisting around each other and this world,
suffocating
until we break from each other
and
bloom
