I can hear your voice, as though it's in the air.
Even though I know you're not here.
I cry and cry, thinking of that day.
Your tragedy.
My memories of you and I will never fade away.

As I try to grasp them, I sigh. You're nothing I can no longer hold on to.
Mama says it's best, if I lie down for a good night's rest.
As I sleep, I think of the last words you said to me.
"I love you," repeats in my dreams.

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem about two weeks after my father died.
