As I sat in my hospital bed
I thought long and hard
About my family, my life
The more I thought, the more I dwindled
My once bright eyes have dimmed
My body has become weak
As my days are numbered
But my smile, oh once so wide
May not be as big, but still as bright
I know that I am happy with my life
Although those around me still cry
The cancer may claim my body
But never my soul
For I have lived
I have laughed
And I have loved
Alas, I still do
Until my last, dying breath
I love you

Dedicated to my cousin Dakota, who has recently passed away due to leukemia...I love you, buddy.
