She walks down the side walk closer to the door
He's sitting there with a bouqet of wildflowers in hand ready to apoligize
He stands as she approaches
she notices him and suddenly turns to walk away
he reaches out to stop her
the flowers spill to the ground
yellow, pink, and orange petals are scattered everywhere
she brushes his hand off her arm
he doesn't stop
he tries harder to make her listen but she runs
he doesn't run after
instead he stands, watches, listens
as her feet hit the pavement and the sound of her breath
as she gets farther down the street and farther out of his reach.
