Dear Time,

Please let me live with no fear of my life

Dear Time,

Please leave me be with a penny of Peace

Dear Time,

You are a thief

A bastard’s son

That claims things that are not rightfully yours

Time, you instill in me a seed of Fear

That grows into a wretched oak, bearing poisoned fruit

That keeps me motionless in my tracks

That forces me to stare back

And scares me far too much to allow me to move forward

Dear Time,

You steal from me the Courage to live

You are a thief

That fills me with dread

And as you take my Bravery away

Not allowing for me to live in my own day

You sneak into my home

And steal something more

Because my could-be-accomplishments

And my would-be-hopes are not enough for you

So, you must steal more from me

Time, you must steal my time

You take it from under my feet

That is your greatest trick of all

As I fret and I worry

As I cry in my frenzied hurry

You make me old and poor

Because I waste all of MY TIME

Worrying about MY TIME

That, by the time I’m ready to live

By the time I’ve finally gotten past my Fears

I have no time left

Because, Time, you are a thief

You are a deceitful liar

But it is I who is the greatest thief

Because I stole from myself

My ability to live
