Your heart is sad and alone in God's prison.
Every step you take makes your heart bleed,
Every scar mkes you cry,
but there is till hope for there is a saviour.

One to care,
one to help,
one rose awaits your heart.

Ten petals to warm your heart,
it soaks your tears into itself,
and replies with a red glow,
to light the way.

Even when you bleed,
petals are there to heal you,
like a bandage.

The thorns remind you of pain,
but the glow is bright red,
a light to keep the darkness that scars you deeply, away.

When the rose bleeds it thinks of you, as it is taped to your side to reflect your image into it's petals.

Emotion sprays with every brush of the petals against your heart.
They share hope for the future,
for life,
for happiness.

And when the petals have gone for the white winter,
the green stem wraps itself around your heart.
It may be cold and hard,
but it's thorns protect you from the darkness,
from the creatures of suicide,
they attack and run away, for they fear the thorns.

The sky darkens,
rains,
and the rose grows petals to warm you again and again.

This rose is here for your heart until the end,
until they both die,
and the tears that they shed fuse them into one,
and float away in the wind together.

I am your rose,
your partner,
your best friend,
here to the end.

Do not reach for death,
and do not fear the creatures.
As you age,
petals will grow on your little plant,
and one day,
you will be happy once again.

And when you cry,
remember the rose,
for it will help you.

I want the reader to have hope. To realize that we go through hard times, but that we can go on.

Wow, what a beautiful poem! Great job, Shelby. The imagery you used, the tender application of the rose pedals as bandages, drying our tears, and even the stem wrapping our heart to protect it and ward off the darkness-- very nice, very original! I was touched, and, as you were trying to give hope and comfort, I think you succeeded with honors! Beautiful work. I look forward to reading more . . .

This is so beautiful!

The writer expresses depth, tenderness, and a heart full of understanding and compassion.

Those who know pain are the most compassionate of all. And those who live with love are able to extend its warmth to others. I hope that Shelby will continue to inspire us all by sharing his love, warmth, hope
