Waiting

Early in the morning,
Too early to get up.
The sun isn’t even up yet.
I am waiting.
Sitting in my bed,
Looking out into the darkness.
I am waiting.
Wanting to go back to bed.
But cannot.
I am waiting.
The sun finally bursts over the horizon.
The darkness turns into light.
Time to get up.
I am no longer waiting.
