Thanks a lot.
My life is upside down.
Thanks to you and your lies.
I'm leaving this town.

You don't get it, do you?
This town's one big heartbreak.
I left at the first chance I got.
A chance I needed to take.

It looks like things are changing.
But this town will stay the same.

Dear mom and dad,
I know it's been so long.
Here's a letter I wrote,
And a heartfelt song.
If you want me,
I'll be under the moon.
I know you're scared to death.
But I'm coming home soon.

Don't be scared to death.
I'm coming back home...
When hell freezes over.
But you don't know that.

I don't know about you,
But I hate reliving my past.
I needed room to breathe.
I knew I couldn't last..
In a town like this.
I've never seen so many liars.
I've never burnt so many bridges,
Or started so many fires.

This town has one thing I need,
A road that I can use to leave.

Before you call me out,
Let me say what's on my mind.
This town has good things,
Good things you have to find.
I've gotta live with mistakes,
All I made in this town.
I was afraid to leave the ground.
There's no place to go but down.

You can't keep me down.
I don't change my mind so easily.

I'd always fall asleep with the lights on.
So I could pretend that you're still home.
You being gone is the reason for my exit.
Thanks to you, i've never felt so alone.

How do you feel knowing it's all your fault?
I bet I'm making you nervous.

I'm not homesick.
I'm just sick of going home.
You're better off without me.
And I'm better off alone.

Try not to miss me when I'm gone.
Until next time, so long.
But who am i kidding?
There won't be a next time.
You won't miss me.
You'll never miss me.

The author's comments:
this is another "song" i wrote about something very important to me. it's about how i've left my hometown and i'm telling you why i left in the first place. the chorus is my "letter" to my parents explaining that i'm homesick and i miss them dearly, when in reality, i'm just sick of going home. and throughout the rest of the song i tell you why i left and of course it was because a girl left me. i didn't leave my hometown but a girl surely left me.
