The Refuge I Have Found
200 feet up in the sky
I stand upon an edge.
I stare into the darkness end,
for the light tells of a lie.
200 feet to my behind,
a society exists.
A place where nobody resists
and gray colors their mind.
They walk together, flock together
as a single entity.
Though they're their own priority
they refuse to separate each other.
I don't fit in with their square-shaped hearts,
I've shattered into dust.
A smile crusted with golden rust
has kept my soul apart.
I've erased my name from memories,
no longer do I have a face.
Running from that unfamiliar place, now the sky is all I see.
Black waves are calling out to me
with soft voices-so enticing.
Thick mist propels me- so inviting,
and I find my refuge in the sea.
A pair of footprints, I'm on my own,
nothing will be left of me, not a single trace.
In the depths I choose to escape
all that I have ever known.
3..2..1, I jump! (without looking back)
my mind has never been more clear.
Calm as dusk, safety nears,
200 feet into the black.
