the struggles of sea and sand
I walk on the shore of the ocean
where the waves are crashing
the clothes I am wearning don't all fit quite right
but they are my style
In the distance a ship is coming for me
I think I can see it on the horizon
even though it isn't really there
I feel the ship always coming
like the thoughts turning round in my head
the waves swirl like sand in the wind
in their eternal struggle against eachother
are they really not the same?
The ocean shall never pull the shore away
without the shore claiming back its own
And I will never give in to one truth,
while the other still holds sway.
For in the end the balance remains
and black and white yields grey
and in struggling to choose a side
we stand to hold our place
And I walk the edge of the shoreline
the border between the yin and yang
polar opposite, different, opposed
and yet inevitably the same.
