Everybody has their moments, even he does. Assure him that you're always by his side when all he wants to do is be alone. Give him time when he asks for it. Stop pestering him. Listen to him when all he wants to do is talk. Tell him that it's okay to cry and let it out at times, he doesn't have to be strong all the time. Let him be selfish for once, because it's not always about you.

He isn't perfect but neither are you. But if he can make you laugh when you're in no mood to smile even then honey, he's a keeper. Appreciate him, make him feel wanted because no matter how bold he shows he is, somewhere down even he wants the satisfaction of having someone who cares...only about him?
