Summary: Marla's mother goes the distance leaving behind a heartbroken husband and a distressed child who can not seem to comprehend what to do next. Marla goes through a series of emotions and eventually realizes what she wants. She takes the high road, altering her perspective on like and having no shame in her mother's death, for her mother hadn't died in vain but died so Marla could live.
