The Crabby Old Lady and the Affair by the Sea
Summary: Emma Jones is The Best. She has the best of everything: The best grades, the best boyfriend, the best opportunities...
So when her mother sends her to live with her grandma for the summer, Emma just sees it as another responsibility, another area in which to excel.
But Emma isn't counting on Nate, an aspiring artist whose personal policies both shock and inspire her. As Emma and Nate spend the summer together, they come to terms with their own shortcomings.
And me?
I'm an observer. I'm That Girl. The one who loved Nate from a distance, impossibly and unfairly. That Girl, the girl he comes crying to after Emma breaks his heart. That Girl, finally, to whom he entrusts his story... And now, I am paying tribute to Nate the only way I know how: I am explaining him.
