it's partway through october and i can't help but think that the weather is almost as bipolar as we are; warm one second, freezing the next, and the leaves are changing just like us, and even though i hate to admit it, the air isn't the only thing getting coler and the wind is blowing outside and i can't bear to think that it's blowing what we have out of reach, and every time i smell nutmeg, cinnamon, and pumpkin, i think about how you kiss my nose and tell me i smell like coffee with that gentle smirk on your face, and how i can't help but notice that lately you haven't been doing that much

anymore.

i know how much i love halloween and how maybe it's because for a few minutes or a few hours or a day, i can be someone else that isn't me, and how maybe when i'm around you i forget for a few minutes or a few hours or a day that being me can get really difficult sometimes, and how arguing is easy, but loving you is easier, andi know which kind of easy i want to spend forever getting familiar with, and if you've guessed correctly, maybe you've realized that it's october and i am still writing about

you.

the nights are getting longer and the stars are getting brighter and my hair is getting darker because lazy summer days and sunshine and kissing by the river are something i left behind, and when i say "let's talk about the universe," i'm looking up at the sky and thinking how stars are even harder to count than the freckles on your nose, and i might as well kiss the sky as softly as possible, because i can't stay out much longer; it's getting too cold, and cold days have a way of making me miss people, and right now that person is you.

This is a bit all over the place, but I haven't been writing enough lately so that's a bit of an explanation.
