A hushed whisper,
a snarky comment,
a hostile glare;

A punch to the gut,
a slap to the face,
a beating heading my way;

A one-sided argument,
a full-blown fight,
a hurtful remark;

A hit to the jaw,
a kick to the ribs,
a merciless rage unleashed;

Unable to defend myself,
both physically and mentally;

Unable to ignore the taunting,
the fists,
the insults;

Unable to ease the pain,
the suffering,
the abuse.
